Christine Betz Hall
Chris invites individuals and groups to notice, appreciate and respond to God’s guidance in everyday life. She is called to support others in faithfulness to the Inward Teacher—to partner with God for personal transformation and concrete service to the wider world. Her gentle approach prepares others to live more fully into their gifts, leadings, or larger ministry. What others say.
A long-time member of the Religious Society of Friends in the unprogrammed worshipping tradition, Chris is active among Quakers on Whidbey Island, north of Seattle. She holds a Masters Degree in Transforming Spirituality from Seattle University’s ecumenical School of Theology and Ministry. As an experienced spiritual director, adjunct faculty at SU, and retreat facilitator, she is called to teach and nurture individuals’ spiritual lives and faith communities.
In 2012, Chris founded and continues to direct the Way of the Spirit program in the Pacific Northwest. Participants attend a series of residential retreats over 18 months. The program fosters awareness of the inner presence and guidance of God toward compassionate service. Study themes offer assigned readings, varied prayer practices, private online community, and monthly group meetings through video conferencing. The retreat cycle begins with a new group each winter.
